POINT partners gathered for a week of scientific discussions, strategic workshops, and cultural exchange

The POINT project successfully held its General Assembly from March 10 to 13, 2025, in Athens, Greece. Partners gathered at the University General Hospital Attikon to engage in insightful exchanges on the latest advancements in predictive tools for chronic disease management. The event, organized by the Hellenic Institute for the Study of Sepsis, marked the 13th month of the project’s life and it was especially rich in scientific discussions, interactive sessions, and updates among project partners.

The scientific sessions delved into pivotal research topics, including the contribution of partners’ institutions for long COVID, immune dysregulation, epigenomic landscapes and non-communicable diseases. These discussions were moderated by leading experts such as Prof. Evangelos J. Giamarellos-Bourboulis and Prof. Claus Desler Madsen. The exchange of knowledge fostered deeper understanding and paved the way for future research directions. Additionally, discussions took place regarding the development of clinical guidelines for doctors, ensuring that the insights from POINT research translate into practical applications for patient care.

A key highlight of the assembly was the exploitation workshop led by ICONS, which facilitated in-depth discussions on strategies for maximizing the impact and sustainability of POINT’s outcomes. This session provided valuable perspectives on transforming research findings into practical solutions that benefit both healthcare professionals and patients, aligning with the project’s Key Exploitable Results.

In addition to the intensive scientific and strategic agenda, attendees had the opportunity to engage in cultural activities. A visit to the Acropolis Museum provided a fascinating historical perspective, allowing participants to explore Greece’s rich cultural heritage and enhance their networking experience in an informal setting.

The POINT General Assembly marked another important step toward achieving the project’s goals in developing innovative health solutions. With collaboration at the forefront, partners remain committed to advancing cutting-edge research and bringing impactful innovations to the healthcare sector.
